SELL YOUR COMIC COLLECTION!

Emerald City Comics buys vintage comics, key issues, complete or substantial runs, and select newer comics that we currently need.

WHAT COMICS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are generally interested in:

  • Comics published before 1974, especially those in complete and presentable condition
  • Important first appearances, origin issues, first issues, and other collectible key issues
  • Complete or substantial runs of popular titles
  • Select comics from 1974 to the present that we are currently sold out of or need for our Guests
  • Collections that have been stored in a clean, dry, smoke-free environment

We may decline common comics that we already have in stock, incomplete comics, coverless comics, heavily damaged comics, or collections with strong smoke, mildew, or other odors.

Not sure what you have? You do not need to identify or research every comic before contacting us.

HOW TO GET STARTED

A SMALL COLLECTION OR ONE BOX

Call 727-398-2665 before visiting to make sure a comic buyer is available.

SEVERAL BOXES OR A LARGE COLLECTION

Email backissues@emeraldcitycomics.com or text 727-378-2410 with:

  • Approximately how many comics or boxes you have
  • Several clear photos showing the comics and their general condition
  • Any titles, issue numbers, or publication years you already know
  • Whether the collection includes especially old comics, complete runs, or individually protected issues

Please do not create a detailed inventory or photograph every comic unless we ask you to. We will let you know what additional information would be helpful.

COMICS WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR

Our buying needs change as items sell and our inventory changes.

SEARCH OUR COMIC WANT LIST

The list is a guide, not a guarantee that we will purchase an item. Condition, printing, edition, cover, current inventory, and customer demand all affect whether we can make an offer.

Your comics may still interest us even if they are not listed, particularly if they were published before 1974.

OPTIONAL: HOW TO MAKE A QUICK COMIC LIST

For a large organized collection, a simple list can help us review it more quickly.

Group the comics by title and list the issue-number ranges you have. Annuals and special issues can be noted after the regular series.

Example:

Amazing Spider-Man #14-121; Annual #3
Iron Man #7-55
X-Men #3-181; Giant-Size X-Men #1

You do not need to grade the comics or research their individual values.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

We will review the information you send and let you know whether the collection may be a fit. If it is, we will arrange a time for you to bring it to the store.

A buyer will inspect the comics in person and, when appropriate, make an offer for immediate cash or a higher amount in store credit.

HOW ARE OFFERS DETERMINED?

Our buyers consider:

  • Condition and completeness
  • Current collector demand
  • How many copies we already have
  • How quickly we expect the comics to sell
  • The work required to sort, identify, grade, price, and merchandise the collection

Because we purchase comics for resale, our offers are below retail prices and price-guide values. Sellers who research, list, and sell comics individually may receive more, but that process can take considerable time and effort.
