CURSE OF YIG BY ZEALIA BISHOP
True first edition copy of Zealia Bishop's The Curse of Yig printed by Arkham House Publishing in 1953. The initial publication run of this book was limited to 1217 copies.
Though Zealia Bishop is the credited author she had very little to do with the actual writing of the book. The idea for the story was originated by H.P. Lovecraft for Bishop, but her creation was later re-written by Lovecraft in an effort to make it publishable. The Curse of Yig is the first of three books the two wrote ‘collaboratively’. The story was originally published in the November 1929 issue of Weird Tales magazine and later saw publication in book form.
It is within the pages of The Curse of Yig that the Father of Serpents is introduced
The book’s black cloth covered boards have gilt lettering to spine of book and the text pages are clean and bright.
