“JUSTIN’S JABBER” Justin is our Back Issues Merchant. He likes to jabber about his new acquisitions, and here are his latest finds… Got some good books this week. I’ll let you guys be the judge.
I don’t like the fact that Marvel has broken up the Fantastic Four.
I’ll flatter myself by saying that I’m normally a pretty forward thinking, progressive sort of chap, but c’mon Marvel! SERIOUSLY C’MON! No monthly Fantastic Four book?! The title that built the House of Marvel NOT ON YOUR LIST OF MONTHLY TITLES?!
For shame Marvel, for shame. DC keeps putting out Action Comics, don’t they? Sales be-damned, IT’S ABOUT LOVING WHERE YOU COME FROM!
Then again, perhaps I’m taking the subject too seriously. This week’s report is starting to sound a lot like a fan letter written by an outraged eighth-grader.
Let’s move on to the books shall we?
Fantastic Four #36, first appearance of Medusa, CGC graded 5.0 (very Good/Fine) condition, $200.
Fantastic Four #67, first appearance of Him (a.k.a. Adam Warlock), Very Good Plus (4.5) condition, $65.
Showcase #8, first appearance of Captain Cold & second appearance of Barry Allen, CGC graded 2.0 (Good) condition, $1,000.
Before Watchmen: Dr. Manhattan #4, “Rebirth” of the DC Universe, Near Mint Minus (9.2) condition, $20.
As far as Labor Room doctors go, you could do a lot worse than a near-omniscient blue man who feels most comfortable in the nude. The doctor who delivered me into this world also preferred to work in the nude, and he was a very nice man — but he weren’t no Doctor Manhattan, that’s for sure.
