NEW ARRIVALS
New comics are usually available after noon every Wednesday. Holidays can delay shipments until Thursday. Games and other merchandise can arrive almost any day of the week.

On a Wednesday when new comics do not arrive, trade paperbacks are on sale: buy one, get one half price! The half price book must be of equal or lesser value. It’s not just for one book: for each full price book that you purchase, you may buy another of equal or lesser value for half price. Also, on these days when new comics do not arrive, back issue comics are 20% off.

FINDING COMICS IN THE EMERALD CITY
At the Seminole location, this week’s new comics have a “New This Week” label over them for easy browsing. New comics and graphic novels are racked by genre:
• DC Superheroes
• Marvel Superheroes
• Superheroes (not published by the 2 above)
• Kids / Family Entertainment
• Manga (Japanese comics–translated to English)
• Art / Reference
• Fiction & Literature (includes all other genres)

At the Clearwater location, new comics are racked alphabetically by title. Exception: superhero titles are racked by the character’s name instead of title (“Amazing Spider-Man,” for instance, is racked under “Spider-Man”). This week’s new comics have a “New This Week” label over them for easy browsing. Graphic novels are racked by genre:
• DC Superheroes
• Marvel Superheroes
• Kids / Family Entertainment
• Manga (Japanese comics–translated to English)
• Art / Reference
• Fiction & Literature (includes all other genres)

At both locations, back issues are filed alphabetically by title.

In Seminole, superhero titles are filed by their subtitle (“Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight,” for instance, is filed under “Legends of the Dark Knight”).

In Clearwater, all back issues are filed according to the Overstreet Annual Comic Book Price Guide (“Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight,” for instance, is filed under “Batman Legends of the Dark Knight”).

RECOMMENDED READING
Every week, the Emerald City staff recommends a selection of new comics for their quality story and art. You’ll find these picks at the register counter at both of our locations. We also feature a section of graphic novels from recommended comics creators. We’re always happy to help you find a comics story you might enjoy, but we will not recommend any new comics for their potential future investment value–we believe the primary value in comics is the reading experience.

IN-STORE COMICS SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE
This service holds new comic books and graphic novels for you, so you never miss a chapter of your favorite stories. Here’s how it works:
• It’s FREE. You pay only for the merchandise as you pick it up
• Just let us know which comic book titles and graphic novels you would like, and we will hold them for you when they arrive. Please subscribe to at least three titles.
• Please pick up everything in your file at least once a month. Delinquent subscription files will be put on hold, and the books will be returned to stock.
• We will gladly try to keep you informed about upcoming comics and merchandise, but we also recommend Previews, our distributor’s monthly catalog. You can purchase Previews at our wholesale cost, and you can use this catalog every month to order items that are not already on your subscription file.
• If you order an item that cost $75 or more, please leave a 50% deposit. This deposit is nonrefundable unless the item is canceled by the manufacturer or distributor.

IN-STORE SPECIAL ORDERS
If you see an item in the Previews catalog that you want, or if you don’t see an item in the store that you’re looking for, please ask us. We can often special order it for you. If you are not on our Subscription Service, most special orders require a 50% deposit. The deposit is nonrefundable unless the item is canceled by the manufacturer or distributor.

LAYAWAYS
Our layaway service is free. The down payment is 20% of the total price of the merchandise. This payment holds the merchandise for up to two months. Merchandise on layaway must be paid for in full within two months. No partial takeouts of merchandise are permitted. The 20% down payment is nonrefundable: If you choose not to purchase the merchandise within the two months, the down payment may be used towards other store merchandise. If the merchandise is not paid for after two months, the down payment is kept as a restock fee. Any additional payments beyond the 20% down payment will be refunded. Payments on layaways may be made by cash or check. Sales and discounts do not apply to merchandise on layaway.

PRICING BACK ISSUE COMICS
We first check your back issue comics purchase against our Emerald City Cover Price Guide. If any comics are on this list, we sell them for their original cover price, regardless of the price guides. Any comics that are not on the list are graded for their condition and priced according to the current price guide. For older comics (under $1 cover price), we use the annual Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. For newer comics ($1 and above cover price), we use Wizard: The Comics Magazine.

BACK ISSUE BUCKS (IN-STORE ONLY)
You get one Emerald City Back Issue Buck for every ten dollars you spend in the store. Each Back Issue Buck is good for one free comic book on the Emerald City Cover Price Guide, or from our “$1 Comics” boxes.

GAMING BUCKS (IN-STORE ONLY)
Instead of Back Issue Bucks, gamers may get one Gaming Buck for every twenty dollars you spend in the store on gaming merchandise. Each Gaming Buck is good for one dollar off your next gaming purchase.

GIFT CERTIFICATES
Don’t know what to get that special someone? That’s why we offer Emerald City Gift Certificates! They’re good at both of our locations.

CHECK POLICY
For in-store purchases, we accept in-state checks in amounts up to $50 with a valid Florida driver’s license. For mail orders, checks must clear before the merchandise is shipped.

RETURNS POLICY
There are no cash or credit card refunds. You may return items for store credit with a receipt within 15 days of purchase. The merchandise and packaging must be in their original condition for this exchange.

BUYING COLLECTIONS
We do buy comics and collectables that we are sold out of, and that we think we can sell. Most of the comics we need are those published before 1970, but there are some modern comics we could use. If you have a large collection, send or bring us a list we can review. If you have a small box of comics or collectables, call ahead to make sure a buyer is available before bringing them in.

CHARITABLE DONATIONS
We are always happy to donate comics for a good cause. Please bring a letterhead or receipt for our records.
